This privately-owned zoo is located on 500 acres of wooded property at the juncture of the Intracoastal Waterway, Waccamaw River and Socastee Creek. Besides housing more than 100 animal species, including camels, water buffalo, zebras and kangaroos, Waccatee Zoo is a natural wildlife sanctuary and breeding ground for many migratory birds. Open daily, weather permitting.
